SATMAR Project
The SATMAR project aims to evaluate in a real scenario the feasibility of the VDES (VHF Data Exchange System) standard to maintain connectivity and communication at great distances from the coast.
The initiative includes the design, manufacture, launch and operation of a nanosatellite (6U) that provides VDES services. This technology will make it possible to provide two-way VHF digital communications from anywhere in the world and to solve different problems: current network saturation, more accurate estimation of vessel arrival times, managing maritime alerts and encryption of the information transmitted.
This project is supported by the Ports 4.0 equity fund, participated by Puertos del Estado and the Spanish State Port Authorities.

HALT Methodology
The HALT methodology is focused on the design and manufacture of high-performance applications with commercial components.
The European Space Agency (ESA) awarded a contract to Alter Technology, Alén Space and Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace Development (FADA-CATEC) to carry out a test campaign to verify whether the HALT test method can validate the COTS commercial components in the field of aerospace engineering.
The project includes a testing program of several TOTEM platforms, the software-defined radio (SDR) developed by Alén Space.

Shipmate Project
The main objective of the SHIPMATE project is the design and development of a network based on VDES and 5G, which allows two-way communication between vessels, buoys, virtual beacons, etc. and shore stations, providing a complete monitoring solution for the maritime field.

NEOTEC 2020 Program
The 2021-2022 business plan of Alén Space, S.L. is supported by the NEOTEC 2020 Program. The goal of the project is developing and evolving the company’s technology while its commercial capabilities are strengthening.
This Plan is financed by the Spanish Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI).
Sayari Project
Project Title: SAYARI
A grant has been awarded to Alén Space in order to promote the Galician participation on the program of investigation and innovation of the European Union, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the context of the operative program FEDER Galicia 2014-2020.
Preparatory works of the proposal took place from March to April 2019.
Grant received: 8.000€
This grant is managed by the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) of the Galician Ministry of Economy, Enterprise and Industry, through Line 1 |N607F: support the composition of Program Marco’s quality proposals, co-financed by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union.
