Alén Space has been selected as the best start-up in the Economic Zones category at the Best Innovation Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW) 2021 awards. The award was collected by Antón Vázquez, business director of Alén Space, from Nadia Calviño, First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation of the Government of Spain; the special delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), Pere Navarro; and BNEW’s CEO, Blanca Sorigué.
Alén Space was a candidate for this award through the proposal of Zona Franca de Vigo, which makes an inestimable effort to promote the Vigo’s hub of companies.
The BNEW is a hybrid event that brings together companies and individuals from different sectors in Barcelona between October 5 and 8 to discuss the concept of the New Economy and its implications in today’s society.
During the event, Antón Vázquez, representing Alén Space, participated on October 6 in the round table ‘Study of Outer Space: the Value of Knowledge for the Future of Humanity’. An intense debate on the importance of the space research and how it can be a before and after for the future of next generations.
At the event ceremony, Nadia Calviño highlighted that “after the pandemic, we want start-ups to be one of the main recovery levers”, which is a boost to all those New Economy companies, including Alén Space, to take advantage of all the disruptive changes that are taking place.
