Job Description

The candidate will work in different small satellite missions within the System and AIV Engineering Area of the company. This area is responsible for carrying out all the tasks related to the extraction of requirements from the users and the transformation of them into a final product, mission analysis and design of space systems as well as their integration and final verification, including all the needed tests.

Position Tasks and Responsibilities

The following tasks will be assigned to the candidate:

  • Analysis of the necessities of the users/customers and the elaboration of several mission concepts that match their requirements.
  • Elaboration of mission and technical specifications
  • Orbital and mission analysis.
  • Elaboration of mission analysis tools.
  • Design and definition of architectures for the space systems that will enable the implementation of the previously proposed mission concepts.
  • Analysis of the performance of the system in terms of power, communications capabilities, mass, thermal, etc.
  • Selection of the physical components that will implement the selected architecture.
  • Manage internal and external interfaces with all the elements of the mission.
  • Interaction with all the technical teams of the company and with external stakeholders (launch providers, customers…).

Candidate qualifications and skills

The candidate must have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering with some system engineering background.

The required experience and skills are:

  • The applicant must be fluent in English
  • Two years of experience in space missions with small satellites/cubesats.
  • Some experience with thermal and/or mechanical models and simulations.
  • Knowledge of System Engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of technical software tools such as: ANSYS, ESATAN, STK, SolidWorks and SPENVIS.
  • Knowledge of Python.

It will be also desirable the following qualifications and skills:

  • Hands-on experience in nanosatellite missions assembly, integration and testing; operations …
  • Knowledge of ECSS and CCSDS standards.
  • Some experience with ADCS and propulsion subsystems.
  • Project Management courses or certifications.

The applicant must have good communication skills and must be able to work autonomously in an effective manner, while cooperating in a potentially international and culturally diverse team.

Moreover, the applicant must have good analytical, organizational, and reporting skills; together with a proactive attitude to solve problems individually and an interest in technology development.
