July 16, 2020
Alén Space has participated today in the Investors Day of the EmprendedorXXI Awards, organised by Caixabank and the Spanish Industry, Trade and Tourism Ministry, through the public company Enisa.
These awards aim to identify, recognise and support the most innovative start-ups whose potential growth will be essential to Spain and Portugal. Alén Space attended this event as the winner of the EmprendedorXXI Awards in Galicia and as a participant within the Impact category, which recognises technological solutions to sustainable development, though improvements regarding climate change, the reduction of inequalities and global hunger, the increase of clean water and sanitation and sustainable cities, among others.
The event was celebrated online, with presentations from different categories carried through Startup Pitches, in which every company explained its initiatives and plans. Antonio Vázquez, cofounder of Alén Space and in charge of Business Development, recalled the usefulness of small satellites as well as the New Space business potential. During his presentation, he explained the in-orbit results of Lume-1 mission and he tacked some actual projects they have going on:
- The development of a VDES solution to maritime transport.
- The participation on Sateliot’s project to launch a constellation of satellites to allow 5G connectivity worldwide.
- The Sayari project, to put into orbit a constellation of reconfigurable small satellites to host third party solutions, to allow companies to offer space services without launching their own satellites.
Afterwards, it took place 1-2-1 Meetings within the Investors Day: individual meetings between companies and interested entrepreneurs to talk about the presented services by the participating start-ups at the EmprendedorXXI Awards.
