Alén Space takes part in Satellite 2019 in Washington, DC
May 9, 2019
The growing importance of small satellites and the revolution that comes with the New Space era have had a leading role in the Satellite 2019 congress, which has taken place in Washington D.C. (United States) from May 6 to today. More than 15,000 professionals from 150 countries have attended to what is considered the most important congress about satellites in the world. Alén Space could not miss this date.
Guillermo Lamelas, Alén Space CEO, introduced on Tuesday the services and products our company offers at the Satellite 2019, during an intervention which had a very warm welcome. Besides knowing first-hand the newest trends, Alén Space has had meetings with some important companies from the space industry to move forward to possible new alliances.
The paradigm change that comes with the New Space has been an important topic during most conversations at the Satellite 2019 congress. This revolution has also reached big satellites. The biggest sector brands are moving forward to cut down time, with more agile processes.
Beyond the search of a bigger time flexibility and the emergence of New Space, there was enough time to talk about other interesting topics:
- Plans to launch new constellations in the next five years.
- Challenges in the frequencies management, as a way to look for new paths to ease frequencies to small satellites and constellations. Without a doubt, this will be one of the topics that will be discussed at the World Radiocommunication Conference 2019, which will take place in Egypt from October 28 to November 22, 2019.
- The importance of cybersecurity, which goes hand in hand with cloud computing.
- Responsive launch, which will allow to launch satellites whenever is needed, and will also ease the reposition and maintenance of constellations’ resilience.
